ESP Associates, Inc. is currently seeking staff-level environmental personnel to join our Fort Mill, SC corporate headquarters. This is a task-oriented position, which will require extended periods of fieldwork, along with periodic out-of-town overnight travel.
ESP’s Environmental Consulting team provides services to private, commercial, industrial, and governmental agency clients. Our team includes professional geologists, geophysicists, and engineers along with other staff and technicians trained and experienced in the regulatory-driven environment of compliance management.

Responsibilities:
- Field Tasks Include
- Performing field explorations
- Assisting with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and NEPA reviews
- Analyzing field conditions associated with groundwater, soil, and soil gas sample collection and documentation
- Generating field reports
- Office Tasks Include
- Reduction of field data
- Assisting in the preparation of work plans and reports including comprehensive multi-media assessment reports
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, geology, earth sciences, or related program of study (will consider candidates currently enrolled in a 2-year program as well).
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in varying field and weather conditions
- Must be able to travel as needed (travel estimated at 30%)
- Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with ArcGIS and AutoCAD
- Previous environmental experience
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of walking various terrains, including inclines and declines.
- Must be capable of carrying up to but not limited to 50 lbs of equipment and or supplies throughout various locations.
- Must be capable of walking up to 5 miles daily and using various instruments or tools working outside in all types of weather conditions.
- Bending, Kneeling, Twisting and Repetitive Lifting of 20 lbs are required.
