Commerce is currently operating under a hybrid schedule that may incorporate both teleworking and in-person office hours. Employees must be able to report to the office when requested by management &/or for their initial job training.
The Division of the State Fire Marshal keeps Ohioans safe when they are at home, and out and about. This includes modernizing and enforcing the Ohio Fire Code; training and certifying firefighters; teaching fire prevention and safety education to businesses, industry, schools and the public; investigating the origin and cause of fires and explosions; and regulating and licensing fireworks companies, underground storage tanks and other fire-related industries.
- Responsible for reporting requirements to United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) for the monthly Programmatic, bi-annual LUST4 Report and Semi-annual Reports.
- Assists Bureau Chief in USEPA Grant Applications, Quality Assurance Program Plan (QAPP) and Quality Management Plan (QMP) submittals.
- Responsible for reporting requirements to State Fire Marshal bi-weekly, Ohio Fire Council quarterly and the Petroleum Underground Storage Tank Release Compensation Board (PUSTRCB) bi-monthly.
- Works with the BUSTR Release Prevention Section and Bureau of Testing and Registration on maintaining the registration and permitting processes.
- Assists Bureau Chief in the promulgation of Rules, Guidance Documents and outreach training.
- Assists the Release Prevention Supervisors in maintaining the Certified Underground Storage Tank Inspectors (CUSTI), Sponsors of Training and Delegated Fire Department Programs.
- Assists Bureau Chief in USEPA Grant Applications, Quality Assurance Program Plan (QAPP) and Quality Management Plan (QMP).
- Overseas the Bureau of Underground Storage Tank Regulations (BUSTR) Release Prevention, Corrective Actions and Enforcement Sections.
