Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Collections Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and customer service while effectively managing a physically demanding role. This position involves efficiently navigating multi-stop routes efficiently, with each route consisting of 80 to 100 stops per day, ensuring the timely collection of materials, and maintaining a high standard of service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute daily collection routes with efficiency and courtesy, adhering to established schedules.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
- Physically move collection bins from waste enclosures to the collection vehicle, ensuring bins are returned to their proper locations post-collection.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of client sites before departure.
- Collaborate with the operations team to provide ongoing feedback and recommendations for route improvements.
- Utilize app-based routing software for real-time navigation and documentation of on-site issues.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist with overflow routes, as well as shop and yard tasks as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 3 driver’s license with Q (airbrake) endorsement.
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience in Class 3 vehicles, specifically in multi-stop routes.
- Clean commercial driver’s abstract.
- Strong physical ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Basic knowledge of truck maintenance is an asset.
