The Sales Assistant (SA) reports to the Vice President, Non-Ferrous Business Operations. The SA provides data entry, technical and administrative support to the Nonferrous Sales / Logistics / and Regional Operations teams. The SA will create and maintain filing systems and databases and perform administrative duties as necessary. The SA must effectively problem-solve, multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced deadline driven environment. Consistent attention to detail will make the SA position successful. The SA must be able to operate with very limited day to day direction, be able to work from general guidelines and be able to make the majority of decisions needed to successfully carry out assigned duties and projects.
This position operates within defined parameters. The primary goal of this position is to achieve excellence in all facets of the position. Providing the highest quality product safely, effectively and efficiently decreases accidents and errors and increase profits.

- Anticorruption Responsibilities
- Responsible for anticorruption compliance as set forth in the Anticorruption Manual. Specific anticorruption accountabilities include:
- Supporting SSI sales personnel and the administration of international sales contracts in accordance with the Anticorruption Manual.
- Communicating upward any suspected or actual violations of the Anticorruption Manual.
- Operational Performance & Best Business Practices
- Ensures contracts are created, entered into the ERP system, and are logged and signed by a sales team member before being sent out to the customer.
- Ensures all revisions are logged accordingly and distributed timely
- Ensures contracts are logged as signed as they are returned by the customers.
- Follows up on open contracts and purchases orders as needed.
- Creates, maintains, and sends out various analysis reports to the various shipping yards and Sales Team members
- Maintains claims inbox, database, summaries and analysis
- Performs timely follow up on claims with Sales Team, yard operations, and commercial representatives for final resolution
- Updates daily price lists, material inventory, and contract entry for distribution
- Ensures order pricing requests are responded to in a timely manner
- Assists Sales Team members with write ups, corrections, customer set ups, and communicates on behalf of the Sales Team with the Credit Department and due diligence.

- Answer multi-line phone as needed to assist others in the office.
- Sorts and responds to email / mail daily

- Special projects as assigned and completed within a timely manner.

Supports the Company’s Anticorruption Program through compliance with the Anticorruption Manual and all Anticorruption Controls.
Internal Control Responsibilities:
Supports the Company’s Internal Control process which includes understanding, communicating and complying with defined internal controls as well as suggesting and making modifications to the policies, procedures and controls to better relate to the business.
Communicates upward problems in operations, noncompliance with the Code of Conduct, or other policy violations or illegal actions.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. See the Nonferrous organization chart for all direct and indirect reporting relationships.
Interpersonal Contacts:
Internal contacts are broad in scope including senior MRB management and additional MRB employees as necessary for job tasks. Contact may be by phone, email, video communication and face-to-face contact with others.
External contacts can include customers and commercial representatives.
Job Conditions:
Average office environment. May be required to work irregular hours during periods of heavy workloads to meet deadlines. May be required to work non-standard hours or work week.
Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions:
Ability to: lift and carry up to 10 pounds occasionally; sit for extended periods of time, up to 6-8 hours per day; write by hand and keyboard for extended periods of time, up to 6-8 hours per day; assemble papers, paper punch, staple, file; apply sufficient force to open and close file drawers. Ability to communicate by speech and hearing continuously. Communication is primarily by phone, email, video communication and sometimes in person, with other departments within the Radius Group. Visual acuity needed for close detail work, preparing and analyzing data figures, accounting, and computer use.
Qualifications:
One to three years experience in data or order entry positions or other related field(s). Bachelor degree in finance, accounting or business related fields preferred but not required. Must be detailed oriented and have a strong sense of job urgency. Good business acumen to understand what drives value and a keen ability to critically evaluate various data from numerous sources.
Candidate must be hands-on, have proven analytical skills and have the ability to understand and consistently apply conceptual information at a detailed level. Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, graphs, etc.); and synthesize a large number of variables to determine a specific course of action.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to produce accurate and meaningful work product. Excellent computer skills (specifically MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio) required.
