Overview

Vitro, North America's largest manufacturer of architectural glass is currently seeking a Manager, Solar Products for its newly designed solar glass line at its Carlisle, PA location. This position is to provide the necessary management and technical support to the new solar operation in order to attain optimum glass quality, maximize speeds and yields, produce at the lowest possible costs and develop the operational standards to maximum efficiency to the new line.

Responsibilities

• Manages solar glass production and other related processing operations at the hot end engaged in processing of solar glass products

• Assures high level of commitment to safety, housekeeping, environmental, health, and security concerns. Establishes policy to assure top priority for these concerns.
• Assures the goals of the organization and goals of the individual employees are in mutual support.
• Assures growth and training of individuals throughout the organization.
• Must work closely with the Wareroom (Cutting operation) to direct and facilitate optimum production schedules
• Must work with QC to optimize current quality and to provide real time decision making about products when quality is marginal.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Engineering or applicable degree is required

• 5+ Years of Experience working as a leader in a Tank department of a glass manufacturing company (preferred)

• 6+ Years of Leadership Experience is required

• Exhibited leadership and administrative ability

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to supervise, train and develop all direct reports
• Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
• Ability to motivate and develop creativity within a team
• Initiates changes which lead to general improvement of operations.

• Expertise in computer systems, including Microsoft and data entry systems
