ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Team Management:
Lead, manage, and mentor a team of maintenance engineers, technicians, and other staff, ensuring high performance, safety standards, and continuous development.
Delegate tasks effectively and oversee the execution of day-to-day maintenance activities across solar sites.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork within the maintenance department.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
Develop and implement long-term maintenance strategies for all solar plants to ensure the continuous, efficient, and cost-effective operation of solar systems.
Plan, coordinate, and oversee scheduled maintenance activities, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to annual maintenance plans.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of maintenance activities.
Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Oversight:
Ensure the implementation of a robust preventive maintenance (PM) program that optimizes the performance and lifespan of solar systems, including modules, inverters, trackers, electrical systems, and other key components.
Oversee corrective maintenance processes to address system failures promptly and minimize downtime.
Manage the response to emergencies and unplanned outages, coordinating resources effectively to restore operations swiftly.
Operational Excellence and Process Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes and systems to increase operational efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize system performance.
Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve maintenance strategies, incorporating new technologies and tools as they become available.
Analyze system performance data and maintenance logs to identify patterns, troubleshoot recurring issues, and implement corrective actions.
Budgeting and Financial Management:
Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget for all solar plants, ensuring that all expenses are controlled and align with the financial goals of the organization.
Identify cost-saving opportunities, manage O&M (Operations and Maintenance) expenditure, and ensure the efficient allocation of resources for maintenance activities.
Ensure accurate and timely procurement of spare parts, tools, and materials required for maintenance operations.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards, including electrical safety, environmental standards, and local regulations.
Drive a zero-accident culture by promoting safety awareness, conducting safety training, and overseeing safety audits at all sites.
Ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out according to established safety protocols and that all team members follow Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) and other critical safety procedures.
Stakeholder Management and Collaboration:
Collaborate with the operations, engineering, procurement, and project teams to ensure the seamless integration of maintenance efforts with broader organizational goals.
Communicate with external stakeholders such as suppliers, contractors, and service providers to ensure timely support and procurement of maintenance-related goods and services.
Report regularly to senior management on maintenance performance, KPIs, budget adherence, and other relevant operational metrics.
Regulatory and Reporting Compliance:
Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and reporting requirements, including maintenance logs, incident reports, and compliance audits.
Prepare and present detailed reports on maintenance activities, performance metrics, and any issues related to asset performance to senior leadership.
Technology Integration and Data Analytics:
Leverage advanced monitoring systems, predictive maintenance tools, and data analytics platforms to track and optimize solar plant performance.
Use technology to analyze trends, forecast system failures, and enhance maintenance schedules based on predictive insights.
Encourage the adoption of automation tools, robotics, and other technologies to streamline maintenance tasks.
Training and Development:
Develop and implement training programs to continuously upgrade the skills and knowledge of the maintenance team.
Foster an environment of continuous learning, ensuring that team members are kept up-to-date on the latest technologies, safety standards, and best practices in solar maintenance.
QualificationsEducational Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
Relevant certifications in solar energy, maintenance management, or project management would be advantageous.
Work Experience:
18+ years of experience in maintenance management within the renewable energy industry, with at least 4-5 years in a leadership role overseeing large-scale solar plants.
Strong expertise in solar plant operations, with hands-on experience in maintenance of solar electrical systems, inverters, trackers, and related equipment.
Proven track record in managing teams, budgets, and strategic planning in a maintenance or operations role.
