Location:This position will be onsite at our corporate offices in Allen, Texas (Dallas-Fort Worth area). **This is not a remote position.
This is a full-time W-2 ONSITE opportunity (not remote)!
We are seeking an experienced Hardware Systems Architect with 5+ years of professional experience, specifically focused on architecting, designing and supporting development of hardware and software for embedded systems using microcontrollers and the corresponding software cloud components. The ideal candidate is an independent thought leader and will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality software and hardware solutions.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead system design of complex hardware and firmware solutions that define future Sol-Ark products and ensure the interoperability of them with existing and future systems.
2. Resulting design must ensure adherence to project specifications, and quality standards.
3. Strong experience in delivering solutions in line with defined schedules and timelines.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, firmware engineers, software engineers, security engineers and test engineers, to define system level requirements and interfaces.
5. Participate in the full product development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
6. Debug and troubleshoot software and hardware integration issues, utilizing appropriate tools and techniques.
7. Conduct design reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure product quality and maintainability.
8. Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to all constituent technologies – hardware, firmware, software, security and testing.
9. Mentor and provide guidance to other lead engineers, sharing your knowledge and experience.
10. Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical direction when needed.
11. Create and manage clear and concise documentation for all designs, development processes, and project deliverables.
Requirements
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering.
2. MUST HAVE at least 5+ years of direct hands on hardware and firmware development experience in a structured environment working on high reliability products with a demonstrated level of quality achieved.
3. MUST HAVE experience in embedded software development on microcontrollers, hardware development and software development.
4. Solid understanding of real-time operating systems, embedded systems architectures, and software/hardware integration.
5. Solid understanding of software architectures and modern micro-service architectures.
6. Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting complex systems using hardware and software debugging tools.
7. Familiarity with software configuration management tools and version control systems.
8. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
9. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
10. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Desired Qualifications:
1. Knowledge of power electronics and control algorithms.
2. Familiarity with functional safety standards (ISO 26262) and safety-critical software development.
3. Experience in developing software for real-time control applications.
4. Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.) for automation and testing purposes.
5. Familiarity with software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum.
