Job Description and Duties
Under the direction of the Deputy Director for District 8 Right of Way and Land Survey, the incumbent is responsible for directing the duties of the Right of Way administrative staff. This position will supervise staff responsible for the management of all administrative tasks within the Right of Way and Land Surveys units. Incumbent is expected to work independently and will analyze problems, develop alternatives and implement solutions. Regular and punctual attendance is required. Responsible for human resources, personnel transactions, health and welfare, hiring and budgetary analysis. Requires maintaining confidentiality and discretion on sensitive matters.
While at the base of the operation, will work in a climate-controlled office under artificial lighting using a keyboard and video monitor for long periods of time as well as a telephone. May be required to travel and work outdoors and may be exposed to dirt, noise, uneven surfaces and/or extreme heat or cold.
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Staff Services Manager I exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
