JOB SUMMARY: his position is a Park Ranger, GS- 0025-9 working in Ashland, Wisconsin for the R3-Whittlesey Creek National Wildlife Refuge. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Park Ranger your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Responding to customers' inquiries for information, direction, and/or guidance; greeting customers and answering questions, and directing customers with problems, questions, or complaints to the appropriate person. Monitoring visitor facilities for safety, cleanliness and accessibility and performing routine maintenance on visitor service facilities. Assists in administering the volunteer program by recruiting, training, supporting, monitoring, evaluating, recognizing, and supervising volunteers for the Complex. Assists with the preparation of press releases to keep the public abreast of refuge program and activities. Works with the Refuge Manager to ensure that Service standards, guidelines, and policies are followed in the production of all communication media including film, publications, and web pages.
