Job Description
What you will do
You support the Partner in delivery and management of integrated and sustainability reporting engagements to and at client premises in accordance with the firm’s methodologies and practices through building client relationships and effective team management.
You will also support the business area leadership in the execution of the integrated and sustainability reporting strategy through identification of leads, preparation and presentation of proposals and other related business development matters. The below but not limited to, will also be included in your duties:
- Management and control of administration in relation to client portfolio and, including management of resources, project budgets, costs billing and collections from clients
- Build and maintain extensive client interaction and relationships with the view to develop an ongoing clients base in all sectors
- Interpreting existing and emerging legislation and frameworks on sustainability and integrated reporting (e.g. CSRD, EU Taxonomy, SFDR, IFRS, TCFD, TNFD) and advising clients on best practices and internal controls
- Aligning clients’ sustainability ambitions with a compliant, yet value-driven reporting framework (i.e. conducting CSRD gap assessments, double materiality assessments, developing KPIs, obtaining and improving ESG ratings)
- Writing sustainability and integrated reports and ensuring audit readiness
- Participate in discussions with clients, identifying ESG impacts, risks and opportunities from a business perspective and facilitating discussions with the client’s key stakeholders
- Provide guidance to junior team members, educate and support your colleagues, understandably communicate relevant ESG legislation, provide trainings and updates on current ESG developments
- Contribute to the further development of the practice, which includes contributing to bids, thought leadership articles, and industry events
- Assist audit teams in providing assurance over sustainability reporting and collaborate cross-function to provide integrated sustainability solutions for our clients
- Together with senior team members manage client relationships and provide industry insight and experience in the sustainability reporting domains
- Be an active member of the winning business team and develop an ongoing work funnel for the service lines, achieve the winning business, marketing targets set
- Development and performance management of team (including counselling and feedback)
- Office Supervision and overall audit management
- Identify winning business opportunities at clients and potential client

You need the following qualifications for the position of Manager (Africa Talent by Deloitte – Assurance):
Required
- Relevant post-graduate courses and qualifications or Master’s degree in Sustainability, (Climate) Risk Management, Environmental Engineering, Economics, Audit, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in a corporate role in ESG Assurance, IFRS reporting in an Audit, Advisory or Group Reporting role
- Strong record in project management and delivering business development and growth in an emerging service line
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations (e.g. CSRD, EU Taxonomy, SFDR)
- Deep understanding of ESG-related standards and frameworks including GHG Protocol, IFRS (SASB), GRI, and TCFD
- Experience in preparing ESG reports and policies
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team and environment
- Proficient in MS Office suite – specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Strong attention to details and accuracy
Preferred
- Sound understanding of corporate sustainability risks across various industry sectors
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver commitments on time and budget
- Experience applying standards, procedures, and processes to implement management system and/or regulatory requirements
- Ability to think laterally and adapt previous experience and solutions to new projects
- Ability to understand and/or willingness to learn Dutch is beneficial
- Experience working independently on multiple assignments or engagements, even in a virtual environment
- Experience with leading teams and project management including budget analysis, status reporting, and issue management preferred
