Wave Life Sciences is looking for an Environmental, Health & Safety Co-op for our Spring 2025 Internship/Co-Op Program. In this role, you will interact with laboratory, manufacturing and facilities personnel to learn about chemical use, process safety and EHS program management in the pharmaceutical life sciences.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This co-op role will be primarily responsible for general support of the EHS team, as well as the execution of a key project. Potential projects include chemical hazard assessments, safe design of pressurized systems, flammable control capabilities, or lockout/tagout. In addition, this assignment will offer the opportunity to learn about oligonucleotide processing and hands-on experience supporting manufacturing process systems in a GMP environment and in high throughput laboratories.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Enrolled in EHS related related bachelor’s or master’s degree program at an accredited college/university. Programs such as Environmental Engineering, Public Health, Occupational Health and Safety, or other science disciplines will be considered.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Strong Windows OS background.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be well-organized and have the ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to manage responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to take direction needed to resolve incidents quickly and effectively.
- Able to complete routine tasks independently over time. This includes gaining the functional, technical, and problem-solving skills needed to complete assignments.
