Who are we in Sustainability Compliance?
You will be part of the Sustainability Compliance team within Group Compliance, who is responsible for overseeing and advice on sustainability-related compliance risks across all business areas and group functions in Danske Bank Group. Our coverage extends from sustainable lending to responsible investments in asset management. As subject matter experts on regulatory compliance risks linked to sustainability, we engage with stakeholders across all three lines of defence. With sustainability at the core of Danske Bank's Forward 28 Strategy, our work receives significant management attention and high demand for our expertise.

Provide sustainability oversight, advise, training & reporting
We are looking for experienced colleagues to contribute and lead on our oversight and advisory responsibilities and to be an SME on specific sustainable finance / ESG regulatory requirements while collaborating with the Group Compliance advisory teams and risk colleagues. Day-to-day responsibilities in the team include:
- Assess and advise on the effectiveness of sustainability compliance risk management.
- Proactively identify and address unmitigated risks.
- Review and challenge product approval requests and risk assessments.
- Engage in compliance thematic monitoring and control testing.
- Develop governance and guidance to clarify expectations for processes and controls in sustainability areas.
- Critically evaluate strategic sustainability action plans, targets, and external communications.
- Assist in the Group’s engagements with financial supervisors, providing expert review and feedback on regulatory responses.
- Create and lead training on sustainability risk management.
- Keep abreast of regulatory developments and draft reports on the risk landscape for senior management.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of business activities, products, and services related to sustainability.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking to fill 2 senior roles, with flexibility to tailor the positions to either a senior or principal compliance officer based on your experience and capabilities. We value a solid track record in regulatory aspects of sustainable finance and ESG. Candidates with experience in regulatory compliance within the financial industry will be preferred.
Ideal qualifications include:
- In-depth knowledge of sustainability-related regulatory requirements, such as SFDR and EU Taxonomy Regulation. Knowledge of marketing regulation/Unfair Commercial Practices, MiFID/IDD is a plus.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and international principles, e.g., ICMA Green Bonds Principles, LMA Green Loans Principles, or Principles for Responsible Investments (PRI).
- Strong proficiency in the compliance toolbox (governance, compliance monitoring, control testing, advisory) and/or general regulatory compliance.
- Solid understanding of risk management frameworks in financial institutions and the three lines of defence model.
- Good knowledge of sustainable finance lending products and responsible investment offerings.
