Job Title: Engineer I
Reports To: Engineer III, Facility Manager, Chief of Engineering, Chief of Facilities Management

About the Role: We’re a recruiting agency partnering with a client to find a dedicated Engineer I to join their team. This role involves managing and implementing engineering projects, potentially working as a facility engineer or landfill gas engineer, and supporting facility operations as needed. Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Plan, organize, budget, and execute engineering projects effectively.
- Technical Reporting: Prepare technical reports, conduct data analysis, and utilize computer software for documentation.
- Compliance and Inspections: Perform inspections to ensure contract compliance, and submit monthly reports.
- Permits and Regulations: Prepare and submit permit applications and other necessary documentation to state and federal agencies.
- Research and Coordination: Lead specific research projects and collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies.
- Specifications and Quality Assurance: Develop engineering specifications and provide quality oversight for ongoing projects.
- Strategic Planning: Support long-range planning and contribute to policy recommendations.
Additional Duties:
- May supervise other team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field) from an accredited institution.
- Experience: 2+ years in engineering, with preference for experience in solid waste or environmental projects.
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license and Engineer Intern Certificate.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Proficiency in engineering principles, research methods, and data analysis.
- Strong grasp of applicable state and federal laws.
- Ability to conduct field studies, create technical reports, and communicate findings effectively.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, and use hands regularly.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Vision and physical capability to handle various tasks, including fieldwork.
Work Environment: This position may involve exposure to both indoor and outdoor environments, with risks related to noise, temperature extremes, humidity, dust, fumes, and mechanical/electrical hazards.
