Job Title: Engineer II
Reports To: Engineer III, Facility Manager, Chief of Engineering, Chief of Facilities Management

About the Role: We’re a recruiting agency seeking an experienced Engineer II to join our client’s team. This position offers a unique opportunity to manage a range of engineering projects, act as a facility engineer backup, and potentially work as a landfill gas engineer. Ideal candidates are skilled in project management, technical reporting, and compliance, with a solid background in environmental or civil engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Plan, organize, budget, and implement complex engineering projects.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare technical reports and data analysis using specialized software.
- Compliance Inspections: Conduct inspections to ensure contract compliance and complete monthly reports.
- Permits & Documentation: Prepare permit applications and compliance reports for state and federal authorities.
- Research & Coordination: Direct research projects and coordinate with various government agencies.
- Specifications & Quality Control: Draft technical specifications and oversee quality assurance on engineering projects.
- Long-Range Planning: Assist in planning, policy recommendations, and contract negotiations.
Additional Duties:
- May supervise other team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
- Experience: 6+ years in engineering, with 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Licensing: Valid driver’s license and Delaware Professional Engineer’s license.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, compliance laws, and data analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in field studies, statistical analysis, and technical report preparation.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, and use hands regularly.
- Capability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
Work Environment:
This role may involve exposure to both indoor and outdoor environments, with potential risks related to noise, temperature extremes, humidity, dust, fumes, and various mechanical or electrical hazards.
