Job Description: Ninyo & Moore Geotechnical & Environmental Sciences Consultants has an immediate opening in our Irvine, California office for a Project Manager level Environmental Scientist with hazardous building materials survey (HBMS) experience. Duties include conducting asbestos and lead-based paint surveys and assessments, preparing hazmat survey reports, assisting with the preparation of abatement specifications and operations and maintenance plans, and providing abatement monitoring/oversight/clearance sampling, and preparing scope proposals for clients.
Education: Associate's degree, or equivalent preferred; however, proven experience and certifications will be considered in lieu of Associate's degree.
Required Skills: Applicant should have experience interpreting architectural drawings identifying building components, and an understanding of all local Air Pollution Control Districts (including, but not limited to South Coast Air Quality Management District Rule 1403). This position requires the appropriate California Certifications and experience performing and overseeing asbestos, lead-based paint, polychlorinated biphenyls, microbiological and hazardous building-material surveys and abatement oversight/monitoring. Experience with other environmental work such as subsurface soil and groundwater investigations is a plus, but is not required. The candidate should have a minimum of ten years' experience performing relevant projects, possess computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word & Excel), have excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and flexibility with work schedule.
Certifications: Appropriate certifications include some or all of the following: Certified Asbestos Consultant, Certified Site Surveillance Technician, and Lead Inspector/Assessor/Project Monitor/Sampling Technician (CAC or CSST required and Lead Project Monitor preferred but other lead certifications accepted).
