NewForesight Consultancy is a leading and globally operating consultancy firm specializing in sustainable market transformation. We are seeking a Senior Consultant for the Sustainable Sourcing & Impact domain who believes in sustainable solutions and is passionate about working in this field.

For the role in the Netherlands we are not able to sponsor a Highly Skilled Migrant visa. The candidate must have the correct documentation to be able to work in the Netherlands. For the role in South Africa, the candidate must have the correct documentation to work in South Africa.
About the Sustainable Sourcing & Impact domain

In this role, you will work on our key sustainability outcomes:
- Living Income for All Producers: Champion initiatives that ensure smallholder farmers earn a fair, sustainable income. Lead transformative projects that bridge gaps and create resilient livelihoods.
- Living Wage for All Workers: Tackle wage disparities by driving projects that aim to secure fair compensation for all workers globally.
- Regenerative Agriculture: Promote practices that restore ecosystems and build climate resilience through projects that push the boundaries of sustainable agriculture.
You’ll be at the forefront of our Enabling Actions that support these outcomes:
- Sustainable Sourcing and Business Models:
Collaborate with partners to integrate sustainability into business models, ensuring long-term value creation and resilience. Lead flagship projects to drive change and impact.
- Sector Convening: Drive cross-sector collaborations that address systemic challenges pre-competitively, advancing sustainability across industries.
- Sustainable Pricing & Incentive Mechanisms:
Spearhead initiatives to incentivize sustainable practices through pricing models that encourage long-term environmental and social benefits.
- Assurance: Due Diligence, Regulations, and Verification: Lead risk management initiatives to build trust through proactive risk mitigation and credible sustainability claims.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning: Enhance accountability by leveraging data-driven insights to optimize sustainability impacts and support continuous improvement.
About the position
As a Senior Sustainability Consultant, you have an opportunity to accelerate the sustainability transitions of our time. You will join a young, diverse, and motivated team, serving as a key link between the Domain Lead of the Sustainable Sourcing and Impact team, and Analysts. You will work predominantly in 20+ international agricultural sectors such as coffee, cocoa, tea, spices, fruits, among others. This is not just any consultancy job. - 50% of your time includes managing the projects we do. All of them are focused on market-driven solutions to social and environmental sustainability challenges. Clients include corporates, nonprofits, and governments. Your tasks include strategic ideation, managing your client and other stakeholders, and project management: including overseeing quality, processes, budgets, while guiding your team. In some projects hands-on project work will also be required.
- 30% of your time will focus on business development. This includes analysing regulatory and market trends, identifying challenges that inhibit sustainability transitions from accelerating. Based on this, you will support creating new, or improving existing, NewForesight services as a solution to these challenges. It also includes acquisition and writing proposals, attending conferences, seeking partnerships, all while building your own sustainability and market profile.
- · 20% will be dedicated to developing yourself as a sustainability professional and consultant. This includes seeking training opportunities (externally and internally), and setting your own growth targets and working towards them.
- Social and impact-driven group of people.
- A base salary up to €4,664. The salary will be based upon experience.
- Annual bonus depending on company and individual performance (can range from one to two months).

- Documentation to be able to work in the Netherlands
- A Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Fluent in English
- Between 3 and 5 years experience in consultancy
- A minimum of three years experience in sustainability
- A minimum of three years’ experience managing projects
- Ability to work independently and a drive to create new opportunities
- Interest in and motivation to do Business Development
- An affinity for numbers and analytical prowess
- Business acumen and entrepreneurial mindset
- Intermediate Excel skills. You will be expected to confidently manage and analyse data using functions like VLOOKUP, IF statements, and Pivot Tables. They also include creating basic charts, using conditional formatting, and automating tasks with simple macros.

The location of this position can be Utrecht in the Netherlands or Cape Town in South-Africa. The below conditions are based on the role in the Netherlands. The salary and other conditions will be adjusted to the cost of living in Cape Town. No relocation package is offered for the role in South Africa.
