POSITION :
Joining Coty R&D Packaging team is being part of a great expertise center and a very passionate and supportive community to develop yourself.
As our global department Sustainability & Packaging Senior Principal, you are responsible to develop and implement our Packaging sustainability strategy in alignment with our company’s defined targets.
Your focus will be:
- To be the key contact for packaging sustainability topics inside our organization.
- To be a member of the sustainability strategy committee for packaging.
- To participate actively on sustainability roadmap definition by materials, categories, brands, targets, claims…
- To participate with the definition of sustainability tools (external or internal) and support the packaging categories to measure, control and drive their sustainability roadmap.
- To assume external roles and responsibilities by representing Coty in different pack & Sustainability Committees.
- To continuously train and educate our packaging department, and all other stakeholders, on Packaging Regulatory & Sustainability topics.
- Review, understand and interpret all new upcoming sustainability rules in partnership with the regulatory department.
- Drive the impact assessment of these new rules to Coty product portfolio to evaluate the consequences for each packaging category.
- Communicate efficiently about the rules to internal stakeholders.
You will grow your team and build strong organizational capabilities, contributing to the strengths of the Global Coty Packaging Development team.
OUR MISSION :
You will be responsible for:
Collect, summarize, and explain all concepts on packaging sustainability (4R, circular economy, GHG – 1,5°, Packaging new laws and regulations, material bans & declaration, information to consumer, …)
Contribute to Coty sustainability footprint analysis (Packaging representation).
Identify (Packaging) data necessary or missing, for analysis.
Represent Coty in different packaging & sustainability committee (SPICE, FEBEA, CITEO, EBS)
Define the need for tools and system (like: SPICE, Beauty that last index / BTL, SAP RD reporting tool, new data collection)
Define a Packaging Material policy and guideline, with achievable objectives and measurable KPIs.
Define a global Packaging sustainability strategy with roadmap and action plan (target, KPI, timeline and plan of execution)
Provide all necessary support to the Packaging team for: Packaging / materials rules & regulations, Sustainability definitions (4Rs), and Packaging claims.
Establish an eco-design packaging guideline.
Participate to pack sustainability solutions, innovation, and research.
Create training decks for internal training on pack sustainability.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Solid experience in Packaging, Sustainability, and transversal team management.
Ideally, a minimum of 7-10 years in the Beauty & Cosmetic industry, or in pharmaceutical, personal care or food industries.
Proven record of leading sustainability and packaging strategy, from implementation to execution.
Academic qualification: master’s degree in sciences (sustainability, packaging, chemistry, mechanical engineering, or other relevant discipline).
Ability to digest a huge quantity of information and provide clear summary.
Operate with discipline in a dynamic and fast-moving environment, with focus on priorities.
Willingness to work in agile, entrepreneurial, and firsthand type environment. Ability to adapt and embrace changes.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify smart solutions with the right level of pragmatism.
Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills for verbal and written communication of ideas, technical rationales, risks, issues, and recommendations. Ability to talk in front of a large audience, and high-level stakeholders.
Ability to work into a culturally diverse organization. Able to travel when required (domestic and international).
Professional fluency in English.
