ASRI seeks to strengthen and promote applied research and technological innovation in matters of sustainability and conservation of the standing Amazonian forest, with a focus on indigenous communities and sustainable value chains, through the generation of scientific knowledge, capacity building and dissemination of knowledge for informed decision making.
One of the main lines of action is the generation of enabling structural conditions in the Amazon region in terms of energy, clean water, valuation of the economic potential of the forests, transportation and communications, and territorial security.
These problems inhibit the development of sustainable biobusiness as well as the survival and development of communities and their ancestral traditions. Solving them would allow for a vast array of positive externalities and a decades-long impact on conservation.
