What you will do:
As the Senior Manager, Environmental Health and Safety you will be responsible for managing the reliable delivery of Stryker Employee Health and Safety strategy. You will execute Global Quality Operations (GQO) level strategy for EHS to drive strategy and creativity in site level initiatives. You will serve as a partner to the Business, key member of the plant leadership team, and as an EHS advisor supporting Division Manufacturing Leaders.
Additional responsibilities:
- Develop and manage strategy, scope, schedule, costs, resources, and risks
- Be responsible for the coordination of stakeholders and management of the resources necessary to achieve it
- Serve as the employee health & safety advisor supporting division manufacturing partners
- Be accountable for employee health & safety compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws
- Manage the employee health & safety team and people processes and develop/maintain a culture of performance, accountability and positive engagement
- Partner with regional leadership to develop the employee health & safety strategy in line with regulatory requirements, business needs and continuous improvement goals
- Ensure metrics and reports to both internal and external stakeholders are delivered
- Oversee the Emergency Response Program ensuring adequate assessments, resources and training are in place to respond to emergency scenarios
- Ensure employee health & safety incident investigation process identifies root cause and monitors emerging trends
- Provide an effective management of change process with respect to the employee health & safety impact of changes to process, plant, equipment, capital projects etc.
- Promote effective risk assessment and risk reduction programs for the region and appraises leadership of the status of same at regular intervals
- Estimate annual EH&S expenditures and contributes projection information for annual budget
- Contribute employee health & safety information towards relevant Capital Expenditure Requests
- Collaborate with corporate departments including Corporate Social Responsibility and Risk Management Groups
- Work closely with functional stakeholders to evaluate existing process layouts in terms of new process integration, ensuring best utilization of floor space, minimized handling and optimum process flow
- Establish priorities, using project management tools support the delivery of new products per cost and time commit
- Coach and develop the performance and career objectives of support staff in the EHS Team
- Leads the Daily Kata Review for continuous process improvement. Coaches, teaches and mentors cross-functional teams to drive culture of continuous improvement and practical problem solving
- Partner with Business Unit Leaders to contribute to improvement in all aspects of production and material throughout the plant
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years' of working experience required; preferred in Operations, Industrial Manufacturing, EHS, Quality or related field
Preferred Skills:
- Six Sigma certification
- Project Management experience
