We manufacture anything from cardboard boxes to food and beverage cans, all using recycled content.
Role Details:
The National Environmental Manager will ideally be based in Melbourne and will report to the Group Manager of Safety and Environment. This role falls within the Operational Excellence division and will oversee the environmental remit across Australia and New Zealand.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and implement environmental strategies and plans to ensure compliance and sustainable improvement.
- Set organizational environmental targets and oversee their delivery.
- Promote environmentally sustainable procurement of goods and services.
- Coordinate corporate systems and processes; provide expert advice on pollution control, waste management, and conservation.
- Audit, analyse, and report on environmental performance to stakeholders.
- Liaise with regulators and local authorities to ensure compliance.
What You Will Bring:
- Relevant environmental tertiary qualifications (degree in Engineering, Science, or equivalent).
- Extensive experience in managing environmental requirements in large complex manufacturing or recycling organizations.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
- HSE management system experience (ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Ability to set strategy across multiple divisions.
- Strong relationship-building skills with regulatory bodies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solution-based focus.
- Practical approach to environmental management.
- Ability to drive change and performance at a national level and develop solutions to complex issues.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Project management capabilities.
