Job Summary: The Environmental Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing a variety of environmental projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, managing resources effectively, and achieving project goals within time and budget constraints. This role requires collaboration with regulatory agencies, internal teams, and external partners to ensure projects adhere to environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance and Permitting:
- Manage interactions with environmental regulatory agencies to ensure full project compliance.
- Oversee the permitting process, and ensure timely submission and approval of required documents.
Project Planning and Management:
- Prepare project proposals, work plans, and budgets.
- Define project needs, establish milestones, and monitor work progress to align with deliverables.
- Direct site investigations, data collection, and analysis to support project requirements.
- Develop and implement compliance assurance plans, ensuring that all activities adhere to environmental standards.
Field and Office Coordination:
- Oversee fieldwork activities, utility locations, and environmental monitoring.
- Work closely with subcontractors and third-party vendors to ensure project milestones are met within scope.
- Travel as needed to remote locations, project sites, or client facilities to monitor progress and address challenges.
Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:
- Consult with internal teams and external scientists, engineers, and regulators to plan project activities and review findings.
- Communicate project status, issues, and requirements to management and clients.
- Prepare detailed project reports, including data analysis and interpretation for project stakeholders.
Compliance Documentation and Inspection:
- Develop inspection procedures and interpret permits, ensuring all documentation complies with environmental requirements.
- Submit necessary reports, permits, and documentation for regulatory approval.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA with a focus in Project Management is preferred.
- 0-3 years of experience in environmental project management, compliance, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and travel to project sites as needed.
