The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest environmental specialist in the Division of Materials and Waste Management (DMWM), working at our Northeast Office in Twinsburg, Ohio.

As Ohio EPA’s environmental specialist, you’ll perform inspections of solid waste, infectious waste, construction, and demolition facilities, as well as conduct complaint investigations to evaluate compliance with state regulations and approved permits. You’ll prepare correspondence summarizing inspection findings and develop strategies for bringing about compliance as necessary.
You’ll review technical reports, applications, and other documents pertaining to DMWM facilities and sites for completeness, accuracy, and compliance. You’ll prepare technical documents that adhere to agency policies and procedures, performing environmental sampling and field inspections to evaluate compliance with Ohio’s solid waste, construction, and demolition debris regulations. You’ll also evaluate approved health districts authorized to administer and enforce Ohio’s solid waste programs to determine their compliance with state standards.
Additionally, you’ll participate on agency and division technical workgroups, participating in enforcement cases as a technical expert and performing various public relations tasks. You’ll provide technical assistance to boards of health, municipal officials, county commissioners, and others regarding solid, construction and demolition debris, scrap tire, and infectious waste management.
