Position Summary:
The Security Dispatch Officer, Safety & Security shall be responsible for handling urgent, and non-urgent calls from staff, guests, and public that facilitate security intervention. Dispatcher will communicate with staff and guests about emergency situation, such as fire alarms, building evacuations, etc., and must have the ability to communicate clearly and calmly, even during stressful situations. The Security Dispatcher Officer must be familiar with the CCTV system, access control system, fire alarm system, and all other emergency and non-emergency equipment necessary to perform daily duties. Duties include but are not limited to video surveillance of the parking deck, loading docks, and the interior/exterior of the facility, completing written incident reports and departmental documents, training of new team members, and dispatching officers to calls via radio communication, while logging calls and incidents into the Ally CAD system.
Responsibilities:
- Complete shift assignments as required in accordance with established policies/procedures.
- Complete written incident reports and departmental documents.
- Notify public safety, Police/Fire/EMT when required or requested.
- Operate loading dock doors.
- Operate all safety/security equipment in dispatch office.
- Dispatch Officers to Safety & Security related situations.
- Investigate complaints or calls for service.
- Assign safety escorts.
- Serve as a point of information to the staff, volunteers, and public.
- Train new team members.
- To perform other duties as workload necessitates.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma/GED required.
- Superior customer service/ relations experience as well as an approachable demeanor required.
- Previous 3 years experience in a security related field preferred.
- Previous 1 year experience in a security dispatch/control center preferred.
- Valid Georgia Driver's License
- Ability to manage multiple priorities/tasks in a fast-paced, busy environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Previous experience writing routine reports and correspondence.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.
