Job Description:
Responsibilities & Duties:
Leading the conceptualisation and design in AC and DC side and overseeing the development of engineers designs
in compliance with IS codes and standards.
Collaborating with other teams, making sure engineering and designs are of top-notch quality and standards.
Conducting thorough technical reviews and quality checks.
Preparation and optimization of BoQ for solar plants including scrutiny of bid enquiries for tender purpose
Optimization – Tilt pitch, DC overloading, central vs string inverters, block size etc.
Design of PV Field includes preparation of layout, SLD, protection SLD, Earthing design and calculations, earthing
layout, sizing calculations of Power & control cable, CT, PT, Circuit Breaker, LA, Aux. Transformer, Inverter, LT
Panel, Inverter Duty Transformer, etc.
Design, drawing and sizing calculations of Switchgear panels, Battery, Central Inverter, string inverter, SCB, UPS,
ESE, PVSyst simulation, String sizing, block sizing, etc. equipment.
Solar design to include but not limited to – Transformer calculation, short circuit force calculation, preparing
signal list for communication, dynamic reactive power control through the inverter, ESE lightning protection,
Earthing system, transient analysis, etc.
Detailed specifications for all Solar equipment’s like IDT, Inverter, Control and Power cable, LT panel, Breaker
panel, Aux. Panel, UPS and batteries, ICOG panel, etc…
Preparation and review of QAP.
Design of 33kV ICOG as per prevailing regulation, standards etc
Preparation of RfP and technical parameters for all major electrical / civil components for new projects
Planning and commissioning of Solar and provide required technical support to execution team for construction
and commissioning.
Support Pre-development team in evaluating feasibility of the projects from PE perspective.
Calculate and optimize plant losses for wind / solar or hybrid projects.
Techno-commercial review of vendor’s submission for finalization of placement of vendors.
R&D – New product study and incorporation in the overall design for ease of operation / cost optimization /
betterment of design etc. e.g. AL transformer for IDTs, higher ampacity OH conductors, UG cables, string/block
sizing, pitch tilt analysis etc.
Regulation – Study and comply regulatory requirements for projects under design – CEA / CERC / SERC / SLDC /
Transco.
Site visit for Whole solution implementation co-ordination whenever necessary for SCADA.
