Work you’ll do
We are seeking a technically proficient and strategically driven Senior Manager or Manager to join our ESG Advisory team as a Carbon Specialist, based in Singapore or Malaysia. This role will play a central role in our climate and sustainability efforts, focusing on carbon management strategies within our growing ESG advisory business across the region. As a Carbon Specialist, you will lead projects related to carbon footprint analysis, internal carbon pricing, and carbon reduction strategies, providing key expertise on Scope 1, Scope 2, and especially Scope 3 emissions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage high-impact climate and sustainability/ESG advisory engagements with a focus on carbon reduction solutions.
Design and implement internal carbon pricing mechanisms, helping clients to incorporate the financial implications of carbon emissions into their strategic decision-making.
Provide technical expertise in carbon accounting methodologies, lifecycle assessments, and carbon data management to support clients in reducing their carbon footprint.
Oversee project delivery, managing scope, timelines, budgets, and quality control to meet and exceed client expectations.
Mentor and develop junior team members, instilling best practices in carbon advisory, sustainability consulting, and project management.
Requirements
5-8 years of experience in advisory roles with a focus on carbon management, GHG accounting, preferably in a consulting environment.
Exceptional project management skills with the ability to lead multiple client engagements effectively.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distil complex carbon management concepts into clear, actionable advice for clients.
Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
Understanding of sustainability practices within the financial sector and experience navigating regulatory requirements related to carbon and climate.
Relevant degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field with a specialization/ certifications in carbon management or climate change.
Required Technical Skills:
In-depth understanding of Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions, with the ability to apply GHG accounting principles to complex client scenarios.
Strong knowledge of internal carbon pricing models and their integration into corporate strategies.
Proficiency with relevant sustainability and carbon management standards.
Advanced technical skills in carbon data analysis and carbon reduction methodologies.
Expertise in carbon accounting software and tools.
