JOB SUMMARY
Synagro-Hypex is a dewatering equipment repair facility located in Lansdale, PA. We are currently seeking an Inventory-Purchasing manager to coordinate the procurement of parts and supplies. Involves receiving, distribution, warehousing, picking and shipping responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitoring inventory levels of commonly used parts and supplies
- Ordering parts, research vendors, negotiation of pricing and delivery
- Works closely with shop manager for parts needed and delivery times
- Shipping parts to field crews and external customers via UPS, FEDEX, courier or common carrier
- Pick parts from inventory, replenish inventory.
- Accept phone calls, proactive communication with vendors and relay to shop manager and operations manager
- Identify commonly used parts and determine alternate parts and vendors in coordination with corporate supply chain
- Maintain well organized parts room and replenishment.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Strong organized and planning skills
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to identify parts such as bearings, seals, sheet metal, electrical parts and pump parts etc.
- Experience with NetSuite ERP or similar a plus
- General Knowledge of Logistics and Transportation
- Vendor negotiation
- Strong written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive work habits, self-motivated.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES
- Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
- Computer skills and ability to work in MS Word and Excel
- General Knowledge of OSHA workplace safety
- Able to operate or work around heavy equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Inside Environmental Conditions (Office)
- Work area and warehouse areas inside of working shop environment
- Outside Environmental Conditions such as inclement weather, heat and cold.
- Industrial and municipal process areas (dirt, wastewater, dust, moisture)
- Ability to lift 55 pounds
- Ability to use scales, hand carts, lifts as for parts receiving and shipping.
