Position Specific Description
NextEra Analytics is currently seeking a well-qualified candidate to join our Asset Performance team as an Principal Operations Engineer. The Principal Operations Engineer will focus on the analysis and reporting of plant production data from across our renewable fleet. Specifically, this role involves applying advanced scientific methods and tools to analyze the power performance of our wind, solar, and storage facilities.
The successful candidate will achieve results by effectively applying analytical methodologies, understanding results and their impact on the business, developing recommendations based on analytics, and articulating results to other business units. This position frequently provides reports to management through risk vetting and operational committees and often collaborates with other business units to provide advanced analytics.
Job Overview
Employees in this role oversee the analysis and reporting of renewable plant operations. Individuals provide renewable plant operational assessments for the entire fleet including applying advanced scientific methodologies to production data. This position applies analytical solutions and effectively articulates results to other business units and to executive management through risk vetting and operational committees. An individual in this role is expected to be almost always a lead on one or more active projects.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform operational assessments and diagnostic reviews of plant performance
- Create ad-hoc coding analysis when required and contribute to operational code as necessary for improvements
- Support analytical questions regarding performance with external customers as requests come through
- Communicate internally and externally on topics related to all projects within the operational analytics group
- Review and guide junior employees on different data patterns and the best ways to view the information
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
