Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy is currently seeking a Solar Fleet Team Senior Engineer who can apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and fields related to solar power generation. This candidate will need to make decisions independently regarding engineering issues and processes. This position requires supervision only related to high level objective and critical issues.
Areas of responsibility will include, but not be limited to:
- Conducting root-cause analysis (RCA) for critical or persistent issues at solar sites
- Become a subject matter expert in at least one inverter manufacturer
- Assist with troubleshooting inverter and other solar issues
- Support the event analysis reviews for accuracy and countermeasure development
- Support ETAP arc flash analysis
- Support responding to NERC and ISO data requests
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
- At least 5 years of experience working in solar
- Experience conducting RCAs and working with vendors
