JOB OVERVIEW
CNPSA is seeking a results-driven professional with CANDU refurbishment knowledge, experience, and skills, to join our team of dedicated leaders in Romania in the role of Expert Refurbishment Safety & Licensing supporting Cernavoda Unit 1 Refurbishment program.
Reporting to the Project Manager Refurbishment, the Expert Refurbishment Safety & Licensing will utilize their refurbishment experience to achieve project objectives on time, on budget and in compliance with applicable quality assurance and safety standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Review the commitments to the Regulatory Authority regarding Nuclear Safety and authorization requirements
- Ensures the evaluation of the project activities, of the detailed solutions from the point of view of nuclear safety and of the Operating Policies and Procedures (OP&P) requirements
- Work with the Romanian counterpart Nuclear Safety Expert to fulfill activities regarding Nuclear Safety and Licensing requirements
- Ensures the OP&P revision in accordance with the state of the power plant for the long-term refurbishment shutdown
- Participate in meetings with Romanian regulatory bodies
- Assist with drafting responses to Romanian regulatory bodies
- Provides periodical information to CNCAN regarding the plan and strategy for the refurbishment of U1 CNE Cernavoda
- Supports the negotiations with the regulatory authorities regarding the content and information of the documentations necessary to obtain the various authorizations
- Responsible for issuing the probabilistic and deterministic analyses necessary to demonstrate the fulfillment of the nuclear safety requirements and objective because of the execution of the activities for the refurbishment project
- Ensures that the nuclear fuel discharge and refueling sequences are prepared and performed, in strict compliance with the requirements for monitoring and testing of the active area
- It is responsible for issuing specific procedures to ensure compliance with CNCAN requirements during the project.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering is .
QUALIFICATIONS
- Direct involvement in a CANDU Refurbishment Project/Organization will be an advantage
- 10 years relevant experience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience working with CANDU Nuclear Power Plants
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working in Nuclear Safety, Licensing or Regulatory Affairs with experience dealing with a Nuclear Regulator.
- Comprehensive understanding of CANDU technology and operations
- Demonstrated capability to manage and lead
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality products under tight timelines and high pressure to support unit restart schedules
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain excellent client relationships
- Excellent problem-solving skills and experience in leading technical projects to successful conclusions
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and have demonstrated a high commitment to quality
- Drives results at all levels
- High sense of personal accountability
- Romanian Language proficiency would be beneficial, but is not a requirement
