JOB OVERVIEW
CNPSA is seeking a results-driven professional with CANDU refurbishment knowledge, experience, and skills, to join our team of dedicated leaders in Romania in the role of Expert Refurbishment Operational Support with Engineering supporting Cernavoda Unit 1 Refurbishment program.
Reporting to the Manager Refurbishment Operational Support, the Expert Refurbishment Operational Support with Engineering will utilize their refurbishment experience to achieve project objectives on time, on budget and in compliance with applicable quality assurance and safety standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide support to the PMO Engineering and Construction organizations to ensure operational requirements are identified and in place to support project milestones.
- Ensure that for preliminary requirements for execution of key activities are met.
- Identify areas that may have potential to disrupt critical path.
- Support heads of services within the Operational Support Department in the evaluation for acceptance of detailed solutions, technical specifications, implementation, and testing plans to ensure station configuration control is maintained.
- Provide oversight and verification of the complex implementation and testing plans for critical activities in the refurbishment project.
- Ensure the monitoring of recommissioning activities to ensure completion and signoff before restart.
- Ensure the necessary documents for implementation of key activities are issued.
- Ensure engineering activities are scheduled to support project milestones for defuel, conservation, system return to service, commissioning, and station restart.
EDUCATION
- A certified or previously certified Shift Supervisor, Shift Manager, Authorized Nuclear Operator or Control Room Operator.
- A bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering or equivalent work experience is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Direct involvement in a CANDU Refurbishment Project/Organization will be an advantage
- Comprehensive understanding of CANDU technology and operations
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain excellent client relationships
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and have demonstrated a high commitment to quality
- High sense of personal accountability
- Romanian Language proficiency would be beneficial but is not a requirement.
- Drives results at all levels
- Excellent problem-solving skills and experience in leading technical projects to successful conclusions
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality products under tight timelines and high pressure to support unit restart schedules
- 10 years relevant experience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience working with CANDU Nuclear Power Plants
