JOB SUMMARY
The essential job function of the Specialist II, Environmental, Health, and Safety is to manage, develop, and administer safety and environmental programs and policies to comply with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and with Adare policy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and administer all health & safety procedures for compliance with federal, state, local, and Adare regulations.
- Provide support for Industrial Hygiene sampling and exposure control development for production and laboratory areas.
- Support annual site Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for EHS activities.
- Review, assess, and approve all facility change controls or proposed changes to ensure compliance with EH&S policies and regulations.
- Develop, approve, and maintain all safety, environmental, and security SOPs and policies.
- Assist in conducting Job Hazard Analysis, Process Hazard Analysis, and PSSR for the facility operations.
- Perform and administer Compliance Audits for Adare’s safety programs and policies.
- Support site Environmental compliance programs and reporting.
- Manage and control hazardous waste generation and shipments in accordance with relevant regulations.
- Act as the pollution prevention, hazard communications and emergency response coordinator for the site.
- Organize and/or conduct required safety training for Adare employees and contractors.
- Update safety, environmental, and security plans and procedures as necessary.
- Lead investigations for safety incidents including near misses, injuries, releases, and non-compliance. Ensure that root causes are identified, and effective corrective actions are implemented in a timely fashion.
- Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies on behalf of Adare. Provide support and insight for other Adare facilities where needed.
- Provide guidance to ensure safe handling practices are developed and implemented.
- Coordinate and manage Safety Committee.
- Coordinate and mange site Medical Response Team
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and Safety, or Engineering with a minimum of 7+ years of related environmental and safety experience.
- Experience managing Industrial Hygiene surveillance programs.
- Experience with Process Safety Management
- Experience with Environmental Social Governance
- Experience with air pollution control technologies and permitting (Title V/Synthetic Minor)
- Working knowledge of personal computers and legible handwriting.
- Position may require working overtime and emergency call in.
