Job Description
Context:
The Gas Power Business – a part of GE Vernova – is looking for a Sustainability Manager to support and develop the implementation of the Sustainability strategy for Gas Power. The role will interact with a network of peers within the GE Vernova businesses as well as with sustainability points of contact across the other Gas Power functions, and align with GE Vernova Corporate as needed. The Sustainability Manager will be responsible to drive relevant business/functional resource alignment throughout the Gas Power business.
This role will support Gas Power’s Sustainability strategy, and drive impact by leading and shaping our approach to ensure Sustainability is built even more strongly into our operations across the business. The candidate will have global exposure both internally and externally and work across all functions and business lines to evolve the sustainability strategy, and sustainability competences of our employees.
GE Vernova and Gas Power are increasingly submitted to sustainability regulations and have also committed to being Carbon Neutral by 2030 and Net Zero by 2050. The Sustainability Manager has a critical role to ensure we do so with robust programs, data and documentation, and fostering strong partnership and collaboration with relevant stakeholders across our value chain.
Essential Responsibilities:
- E-meter Project Manager: roll-out energy consumption measurement digital tools to better drive Scope 1 & 2 reduction on Gas Power large sites. Making sure the tools are deployed by the Gas Power DT team on time, within budget, and train user
- New Sustainability regulations: GE Vernova and Gas Power are increasingly submitted to sustainability regulations in different regions and countries of the world. This leads to data collection, tools and software implementation across the business functions and partnership with the GE Vernova HQ Sustainability team
- Scope 1 reduction through tests strategy: Gas Power Scope 1 related to testing represents a substantial portion of the overall Scope 1. Hence a dedicated strategy needs to be put in place to ensure the business commit to its 2030 Carbon Neutral target
- Continuous functions’ Sustainability training: to make sure all business functions are adequately contributing to the Gas Power Sustainability strategy, the Sustainability Manager will continuously train and share latest regulations with the teams as needed
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Degree in business management, Sustainability, environmental engineering or other academic field from an accredited college or university discipline
- Significant experience leading detailed Sustainability programs and operationalization – translating strategy into tangible actions and impact - from an international organization, preferably in an industrial and/or manufacturing space
- Strong knowledge of climate, circularity and social frameworks and trends relevant for a global industrial business in the energy sector
- Solid knowledge of relevant reporting and regulatory requirements in the ESG space and experience with leading internal and external reporting processes and stakeholder engagement
Desired Characteristics:
- Independent, self-directed, collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and strategic mind-set. Ability to navigate complexity, develop clear actions, drive impact, and quickly move from details to the holistic view and vice versa
- Experience with navigating a global, multi-stakeholder matrix organization, engaging very different colleagues and stakeholders and effectively influence for impact
- Experience and demonstrated track record of reporting out to senior leadership and driving sustainability education and awareness
For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $129,000.00 - $172,000.00 USD Annual.
The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
