Lead Engineer Exhaust systems will be a dynamic position which will be responsible for leading and executing multiple key initiatives within the Inlet and Exhaust team and support requisition/project execution tasks on Exhaust components. This role is specifically posted to execute the Hot SCR scope of Exhaust systems.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Drive safety, compliance, and unyielding integrity in everything we do

- Knowledge of the exhaust systems to support project execution of requisition & NPI projects and application of design practices & tools as well support manager for running the weekly scrum and project review meetings.
- Lead & Coordinate to creating and updating the design practices, functional specifications and ordering drawing template, max case device summary & schematics for Hot SCR system.
- Ensuring equipment maintainability and accessibility by interfacing with PDE & supplier for 3D model review, witnessing function and performance tests at supplier site,
- Ensure that the design is per applicable rules, regulations codes and standards, respective GE design practice / work instruction, contractual requirement and per good engineering practices especially about environmental aspects and health and safety of site personal, operators, maintenance personnel and third parties,
- Improve customer responsiveness by keeping project schedule, pro-active follow-up of supplier deviations, pro-active follow-up of field issues, timely close-out of ER/NCR; while feeding ERS database for generic cases,
- Providing proposals for design improvement and cost reduction to improve competitiveness of GE offered equipment & design,
- Prepare and maintain relevant design documents & databases e.g., system design practices, system application guidelines, system descriptions / GEKs, OTR standard documentation / templates, standard work, GBOM parts, AVEVA reference plant max case schematic and device summary etc. based on lessons learned of ongoing projects and site feedback.
- Support CTH & TL closely to ensure on-time RCA closure, interacting openly with customers to get agreement on proposed solution, proper feedback and improvement actions to be implemented within documentation and with suppliers / manufacturers,
- Align with Sourcing & Supplier Quality team to identify new suppliers and be involved for ramp-up, that those understands & follows our specifications & drawings to become reliable business partner.
- Be the channel of communication for smooth execution for the Decarbonization efforts with System team. Additionally, if needed, enable better communication with fluids/controls/PDE/ others as relevant.
- Lead and drive tools development & automation of design & project execution processes to drive productivity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering. from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
Desired Characteristics
- Experience working with a global engineering team.
- Self-motivated and able to lead the development and drive execute of engineering assignments.
- Engineering design and validation experience in power plant equipment, such as gas turbine accessories or similar mechanical systems.
- A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills, ability to mentor less experienced engineers across a global team environment and have good work experience on REQ, OTR, Site support, NPI projects and latest technologies.
- Person should have ability to work on site issue and resolve any technical problems with sense of urgency.
- Focused on quality, on-time delivery, and on-budget performance. Metric focused. Should have good planning & task management skills and bring similar culture in team.
- Effective interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Effective communication skills, oral and written.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering for the business.
- Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Chemical, or Aeronautical engineering.

For purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $85,600 - $142,600 USD Annual.
The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This Lead Professional Band position is also eligible for a variable incentive Bonus of 10%.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
