Job Summary:
The Director of Sustainability is responsible for developing and implementing the organization's sustainability strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business goals. This role involves leading initiatives that promote environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic viability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Development: Create and oversee the sustainability vision, goals, and strategies that align with the organization's mission.
- Program Management: Lead sustainability programs and projects, ensuring measurable outcomes and adherence to best practices.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and community stakeholders to promote sustainability initiatives and gather input.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement sustainability policies and practices that enhance environmental performance and corporate social responsibility.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Monitor and report on sustainability metrics, including energy usage, waste reduction, and carbon footprint, to track progress and communicate results to stakeholders.
- Education and Training: Foster a culture of sustainability within the organization through training, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Proven experience in sustainability program management, corporate social responsibility, or environmental management.
- Strong understanding of environmental policies, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
