How does this role fit into the success of our organization?
The Environmental Manager is responsible for all environmental compliance for our Moncure, North Carolina facilities. The day-to-day of this role involves managing water + air permits, correcting environmental deficiencies found in inspections, and providing guidance for environmental issues of production management team.
This individual will:
- Ensure day-to-day compliance of site.
- Conduct all compliance activities, stack testing, and water testing per permitted requirements.
- Submit all regulatory reports in timely manner.
- Manage Title V Air Permit subject to Plywood and Composite Wood Products MACT, Boiler MACT, and Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD).
- Manage new air permit modifications and updating site air permit as well as monitor air permit inspections.
- Maintain excellent relationship with State, Federal, and Local regulators.
- Manage stormwater permits and site BMPs.
- Manage Non-Discharge Spray Irrigation permit and monitoring.
- Manage environmental records including preparation and submission of all regulatory reports.
- Stay informed on changes in State and Federal Air and Water regulations.
- Manage site solid waste, hazwaste, and radiation storage locations.
- Ensure appropriate radiation/X-ray protocols maintained on site.
- Conduct stack testing and other compliance activities as required by air permit.
- Supervise daily activities of onsite Wastewater-Environmental Technician/EHS Management System Administrator
- Act as site resource for environmental impacts of projects and manufacturing activities.
- Participate in the corporate environmental auditing program, as well as companywide EHS goals and objectives.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor's degree in ESH, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 year's industrial experience in an environmental leadership role.
- Strong background in Title V air permit management.
- Familiarity with wastewater and stormwater NC State regulations is beneficial.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office suite of products.
