ERM is hiring an Environmental Permitting and Compliance Specialist to support client projects in Anchorage, Alaska with ability to work remotely. In this critical role, you will ensure environmental compliance with applicable regulations and existing company standards and contribute to an environment where employee health and safety is preserved. This is a part-time (25 hours a week on average), fixed-term position for a duration of 12 months.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with lands work such as, land acquisition, land ownership research, easement negotiations, identifying official land descriptions, developing Land Entry packages, recorded easement research, recording easements, providing guidance to team members, etc.
- Assist with Environmental compliance and permitting work
- Compliance with corporate health and safety policies.
- Remain engaged with team and assigned projects. Expected to complete work requests in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5 years minimum experience in land acquisition.
- Strong Land expertise and land works experience.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulatory processes, permitting, and the National Environmental Policy Act is not mandatory, but preferred.
- Solid working knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office Suite, and data management software.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of professionalism.
- Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications.
- Must meet criteria identified in Job Demands & Conditions Analysis for Office and Field Positions.
- Physical demands required for the successful performance of this job could include standing and/or walking during variable weather conditions.
- Familiar with Alaska regulations.
