Grounded in the principles of the community-driven and city-adopted Reimagine Middle Branch initiative, the Environmental Project Manager will perform a crucial role in effectively stewarding grant funds to advance environmental justice in the disinvested communities of South Baltimore through the Middle Branch Resiliency Initiative (MBRI) and associated waterfront trail and greenspace improvements. Reporting to and working closely with the Senior Restoration Manager, the Environmental Project Manager will drive the development and execution of compliance strategies for all environmental contract and grant requirements. The Environmental Project Manager manages a diverse portfolio of shoreline restoration projects with a focus on complex contract (grant) administration and compliance.

Here's a Snapshot of the Position:
- Manages a dynamic and complex portfolio of shoreline restoration contracts and diverse funding sources (local, state, federal, and private) with various compliance requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
- Works closely with a forward-thinking and collaborative team, including SBGP’s Executive Director, to advance groundbreaking shoreline restoration initiatives in South Baltimore.
- Ensures ongoing compliance requirements with multiple funder requirements, including legal and regulatory compliance, milestone tracking, deadlines, funder reporting, and other duties as assigned.
- Assists with identifying, negotiating, and executing new contracts with funders and vendors.
- Ensures strict adherence to SBGP's billing and reimbursement policies, maintains accurate grant and financial records, and ensures ongoing fiscal compliance.
- Implements and manages tracking systems for MBRI project deliverables and compliance, fostering clear communications with team members and vendors to ensure all contractual obligations are met efficiently.
- Proactively identifies and works with Senior Restoration Manager to resolve compliance concerns.
- Communicates professionally with funders, team members, and other stakeholders.
Is This You?
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in project management or related discipline. Experience in environmental project and grant management strongly preferred.
- This position requires frequent public interactions including with stakeholders, partners, business leaders, residents, neighborhood leaders, government leaders, state/local officials, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with research, planning, and evaluation.
- Strong organizational and planning skills and attention to detail, with ability to anticipate, initiate, and advance multiple priorities and projects concurrently.
- Desire to work collaboratively and entrepreneurially across the organization.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience working with project management software (Monday, Asana, etc.).
- Google Suite (Calendar, Docs, etc.).
- Video conferencing to conduct meetings and events via Teams, Zoom, or other video conferencing technology.
Total Compensation Package:
- Entry level salary range of $62,000 to $68,000.00, commensurate with experience.
