The Sales Engineer will be responsible for selling and estimating activities with assigned accounts, as well as business development and operations tasks on a case by case basis. A list of principle duties is listed below:
General Duties:
- Grows ECE market share
- Develops relationships with current manufacturers represented by ECE
- Develops and maintains viable long-term relationships with contractors, owner clients, and consulting engineers
- Estimating Activities - Responsible for estimating cost for HVAC equipment projects using manufacturer selection software &/or inside support team.
- Identify all opportunities being pursued by an assigned account.
- Keeps up to date opportunity records using Sales Force
- On a quarterly basis, develop and review account plan with management for accounts.
- Observes Company ethical and professional conduct of business policies.
- Regularly entertains customers to include overnight trips, lunches, luncheon presentations, or whatever the customer reasonably desires for entertainment.
Owner Account Management:
- Maintain existing relationships by developing a plan and executing the plan on an annual basis
- Create new relationships through industry networking, plan & spec project development, and targeting high value potential clients
- Develop possible design build opportunities
- Develop energy and optimization strategies and energy related projects with target owners
- Develops multiple relationships with key players in a customer's organization, including senior and junior project engineers, project managers, management, executive, construction, financial, and purchasing personnel.
Consulting Engineer Account Management
- Works with MEP consulting engineers to help develop best design practices that incorporate ECE products.
- Sales Engineer to have support responsibilities for assigned consulting engineering accounts.
- Support Functions include the following:
- Specification and Drawing Development and Review
- Design Meetings
- Lunch and Learn Presentations
- Factory trips to help promote system design and customer acceptance
- Promotes bid form best practices
- Actively participates in community professional organizations to improve professional skills and build long-term relationships (ASHRAE, FHEA, SWE, etc...)
Education and Experience:
- Engineering bachelor's degree required. Preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ year outside sales experience is preferred
Knowledge:
- Effective interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong written, verbal and presentational communication skills
