The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest environmental specialist in the Division of Air Pollution Control (DAPC), working at our Central Office in Columbus.

As Ohio EPA’s environmental specialist, you’ll serve as DAPC’s compliance coordinator, entering and tracking compliance and enforcement data in the division’s STARS2 database, helping to prepare reports utilizing data. You’ll track Notice of Violation letters and regularly coordinate with district compliance supervisors to confirm the compliance status of facilities, including milestone tracking for enforcement cases. You’ll organize compliance workgroups, as well as memorializing compliance procedures, templates, inspection checklists, guidance, and policies for statewide use.
Additionally, you’ll receive verified complaints, preparing acknowledgement letters and public notices. You’ll assist in processing file reviews and U. S. EPA compliance screen requests for the compliance and review section, as well as review scheduled maintenance requests and recommendations. You’ll help review quarterly excess emissions reports and prepare quarterly summery reports that are submitted to U. S. EPA.
You’ll conduct technical reviews of enforcement cases, preparing appropriate documents for case resolution and participate in settlement meetings, hearings, and other litigation activities as needed. You’ll also assist in administering the Open Burning program, including responding to inquiries, permission processing, and rule review.
