Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Environmental Specialist Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in environmental compliance, reporting for regulatory agencies, and experience in obtaining and maintaining air permits. The Environmental Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring that our operations comply with environmental laws and regulations, while also supporting sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit reports for environmental regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Manage air permits, including applications, renewals, modifications, and compliance monitoring.
- Conduct environmental assessments and audits to identify potential compliance risks and develop corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain environmental management systems and records, including documentation for audits and inspections.
- Monitor environmental performance indicators such as air quality, waste management, and water usage to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to implement environmental best practices and sustainability initiatives.
- Serve as the point of contact for all environmental regulatory matters and ensure timely communication with agencies.
- Stay current with changes in environmental laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on environmental compliance requirements and company policies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of environmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in environmental compliance, particularly with environmental reporting and air permits.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including EPA guidelines.
- Experience with environmental permitting processes (air permits, wastewater permits, hazardous waste permits, etc.).
- Proficiency in preparing and submitting reports for environmental regulatory agencies (e.g., EPA, state agencies).
- Familiarity with environmental on GMP facilities.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and environmental compliance software.
