About This Opportunity
FPA is currently searching for a full-time Environmental Scientist for our Wall Township, New Jersey office. The ideal candidate will have broad-based, hands-on experience.

Core Responsibilities
- Conduct field sampling including soil and groundwater sampling, indoor air and soil gas sampling, monitoring well installations, well gauging, remedial excavations, and general fieldwork oversight.
- Tabulate analytical data and utilize technology to support data management and interpretation.
- Assist project managers and Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs) in the preparation of regulatory reports including, but not limited to: Preliminary Assessment (PA), Site Investigation (SI), Remedial Investigation (RI), Remedial Action Workplan (RAW) and Remedial Action Reports (RAR).
- Conduct site assessments and interpret/communicate investigation findings with senior staff.
- Work outside with variable weather conditions in proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ability to operate company trucks, field equipment and hand tools.
What We Are Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, or related technical degree from an accredited university.
- Required 1-5 years of full-time professional environmental experience in site remediation, UST closures and due diligence in New Jersey.
- Understanding of Site Remediation Reform Act (SRRA), the Administrative Requirements for the Remediation of Contaminated Sites (ARRCS), the Technical Requirements for Site Remediation (TRSR), the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Field Sampling Procedures Manual (FSPM) and technical guidance documents.
- Excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and technical writing skills.
- Motivated with the ability to work independently and oversee contractors in the field.
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and current with 8-hour refresher courses.
- Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software including ESRI’s ArcGIS is preferred.
