Your Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Associate or Senior Associate to join our Perth Environment & Planning team.
Working directly with partner Nada Raphael, your varied role will encompass all aspects of environment and planning law across many sectors, including energy and resources, property development, infrastructure, waste and agribusiness.
With Nada's guidance and support, you will also be given the opportunity to work with MinterEllison's government clients and to develop your knowledge and expertise in administrative law.
You will be exposed to a variety of work, including:
- general advice on the interpretation of environment and planning legislation and public law;
- strategic advice, including project approval requirements and processes, for complex infrastructure projects, energy and resource projects and major urban developments;
- contamination and pollution issues;
- environmental compliance and appeals;
- due diligence for various transactions;
- land compensation claims;
- the management of disputes in the State Administrative Tribunal and Supreme Court of WA; and
- Aboriginal heritage and Native Title.
You will also work closely with other business units within the MinterEllison Perth office, and nationally, as the Environment & Planning team is regularly engaged to provide specialist advice on major projects and transactions.

MinterEllison has a market leading national Environment and Planning team, which forms an integral part of our Infrastructure, Construction and Property (ICP) group. Our ICP group have a significant footprint nationally and our capability breadth provides a full service offering across the entire lifecycle of a project from environment and planning approvals and procurement to real estate development and construction, through to operations and performance of assets and compliance matters.
