Role description:
Due to the continued growth of our Restoration business, Arcadis is looking for Senior Environmental Consultant/Scientist with key focus on contaminated land to join our expanding Restoration team based in Perth, Western Australia. In addition to the technical delivery and project management of CLM projects, you will be integral in the growth and development of junior consultants.
Role accountabilities:
- Project management of small to medium scale contaminated land projects including planning and execution of fieldwork, co-ordination and management of field resources, budgetary oversight and contractor management.
- Collaborating with our hydrogeologists, engineers and sustainability team on large scale infrastructure and commercial/industrial projects
- Providing technical review of contaminated land projects supporting our resource and infrastructure sectors
- Providing technical direction, mentoring, training and development training to graduates and junior professionals through the delivery of your projects
- Identifying opportunities and driving business development internally and externally
- Working with our communities of practice to increase technical knowledge
- Fostering a culture aligned with Arcadis’ recently released global sustainability strategy
Qualification & Experience:
First and foremost, you share our passion for improving the quality of life. You have built your career up from site inspections and field work in contaminated lands and now want to drive that energy in others. You are a tertiary qualified Environmental Scientist and come to us with:
- Degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Geology, hydrogeology, Environmental Chemistry or related field
- Ideally have 5 – 10 years experiences in contaminated land and/or environmental assessment and remediation.
- Confidence in developing and reviewing Preliminary Site Investigations, Detailed Site Investigations and Remediation Action Plans
- Extensive experience in the practical application and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for contaminated sites in Western Australia and nationally.
- Produce and prepare high-quality technical reports and proposals
- Experience assisting with the scope, design, costing and implementation of contaminated land, acid sulfate soil and groundwater investigations
- Experience in large scale, multi-disciplinary projects including mining, oil and gas, and linear infrastructure (road and rail)
- Environmental practitioner certifications and/or site contamination specialist preferred
- Experience coordinating, engaging and managing contractors
- Experience with Chemical Engineering/Process Engineering desired. [BA1]
- Strong stakeholder/client engagement skills and the ability to build relationships and networks internally and externally
- Experience managing PFAS related projects
- Valid/current manual Australian driver’s license
