Who are we looking for:
Woodard & Curran has an opportunity for a mid-level engineer who can support and manage a diverse range of challenging and engaging remediation projects. The selected candidate will be a key contributor to an integrated and multi-disciplinary team that provides high-quality remediation and consulting services to our industrial, commercial, and municipal clients. The selected candidate will report directly to Project and Technical Managers in our national Environmental Remediation Practice and work directly with a diverse and talented group of engineers and scientists. The ideal candidate is a mid-level engineer with strong technical experience delivering high-quality remediation and consulting services to projects across the firm’s geography and core markets. The successful candidate will be an energetic, motivated, growth-oriented professional who can work independently and lead multi-disciplined project teams.
The candidate should be a self-starter and possess firm analytical, field, and writing skills to support a wide range of science and engineering projects. They must also have excellent communication skills, leadership ability, a positive attitude, and the ability to work independently and within teams.
What You Will Be Doing at Woodard & Curran:
The individual in this position will lead and complete technical tasks for remediation projects. Typical projects range from concept development and pre-design investigations through remediation system design, construction, and operation. Specific experience and remedial focus areas include corrective measures/feasibility studies, data management and evaluation, interaction with contractors, preparation of detailed design plans and specifications, remediation construction bid evaluations, brownfields remediation and redevelopment, in-situ and ex-situ soil and groundwater remediation, vapor intrusion evaluations/mitigation; regulatory compliance; construction management; and documentation and reporting by applicable environmental laws and regulations. Work also involves selecting, coordinating, and managing subcontractors, estimating costs, and managing the scope, schedule, and budget for various project tasks. Technical report writing and interaction with project staff, clients, and regulatory agencies will also be essential to the candidate’s success.

What You Will Need To Succeed:
- 4-10 years of professional experience with an environmental/engineering consulting firm.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program. Master’s degree desirable.
- A New Jersey Professional Engineering license (PE) is desirable. An engineer in training is acceptable, and a commitment to obtain PE within one year is required.
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER and 10-hour OSHA Construction training.
- Technical experience with in-situ and ex-situ treatment system design, cost estimating, local/state/federal permitting, and design and implementation of site remediation programs, including feasibility evaluations, remedy selection, and optimization.
- Experience completing permit and design plans and specifications for local, state, and federal agencies.
- Knowledge of local regulatory programs.
- Experience with management of remediation contractors.
- Demonstrated experience with scoping, budgeting, and implementation of remedial programs.
- Ability to delegate and organize field teams.
- Excellent organizational, technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Procure, stormwater models, Python/R, contaminant modeling software, and/or database software is preferred.
$90,000 - $115,000 a year
This role has the option for remote work, and the anticipated pay range is flexible, depending on factors such as the employee's primary work location, skills, experience, and education. The following examples illustrate how the pay range for the same role can vary based on different locations.
Cherry Hill, NJ: $90,000 - $110,000
East Winsor, NY: $94,000 - $115,000
This position’s anticipated pay range is provided above; the final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will depend on experience level, and a percentage-based geographic differential will be considered based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials recognize and reflect the cost of labor differences between geographic markets.
