We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our PHINIA Legal team as a Manager, Global Sustainability! This position can be remote, with regular travel to the Auburn Hills, Michigan World Headquarters facility and/or other global PHINIA locations, as needed.The Manager, Global Sustainability is a key leader in fulfilling the Company’s vision of advancing sustainability today, with the goal of powering a cleaner tomorrow. This position leads the development and refreshment of the Company’s sustainability strategies and priorities, and also manages and facilitates contributions to sustainability disclosures, including the Company’s annual Sustainability Report, sustainability/ESG-related disclosures in the Company’s Proxy Statement and Annual Report on Form 10-K, and customer, rating agency, and other sustainability/CSR questionnaires and requests for information.
This position is an important member of the PHINIA Legal Department, reporting to the General Counsel, Corporate and Securities, and Assistant Secretary, and working collaboratively with various global functions in support of the Company’s strategies, goals, and objectives.
Manages annual Sustainability Report process, including external vendors and related budgets, internal project team, content development, report design, framework alignment, regulatory compliance, data validation, and related processes
Leads,and manages internal SME contributions to, Company-wide sustainability strategies and initiatives, including double materiality assessments, compliance with applicable global regulations and frameworks (including upcoming laws and regulations in the EU, UK, and US), the assessment of sustainability risks and opportunities, and related vendor and stakeholder engagement
Tracks and supports KPIs, goal setting, and action planning for sustainability topics across global functions and recommends opportunities for improvement, advancement, and shifts in priorities based on global regulations, stakeholder expectations, peer benchmarking, and other relevant considerations
Collaborates with Marketing and Communications, Investor Relations, Legal, and other functions to communicate sustainability strategies, progress, and goals
Develop standardized approach to responding and engaging with customers, investors, and other stakeholdersregarding sustainability strategies and performance, and lead teams in engaging and responding to such requests
Gathers information from internal SMEs, global functions, and business units to respond to sustainability disclosure requests, and provides support to business units and plants with customer sustainability requests and audits
Monitor and manage contributions to,and promote integrity of data for, sustainability/ESG rating agency questionnaires and surveys, and identify and recommend actions for score improvement
Develop and collaborate with SMEs and global functions onsustainability/ESG-related disclosures, including in the Company’s Proxy Statement and Annual Report on Form 10-K, taking into consideration relevant rules and peer benchmarking
Promote a culture of sustainability, drive engagement, provide training, and develop guidance documents relating to sustainability across the organization
Ability to proactively recommend, develop, and drive strategy and process improvements, and influence decision-making with key leadership and othersin a decentralized environment
Ability to provide strong leadership, with minimal oversight,in managingmeetings and complex projects that include coordination with internal SMEs, external vendors, and others in an efficient, organized, and cost-effective manner
Strong problem-solving skills, overall business acumen, and analytical skills, includinginterpretingvarious regulations, data, metrics, best practices, and other information from a variety of sources
•Master’s or other advanced degree is a plus
•10+ years of experience in Sustainability, Environmental, Operations, Product Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Communications, or ESG-focused role
