Description
The Bilingual Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) Administrator will work alongside the Corporate HSE Manager. The Bilingual HSE Administrator will be responsible to maintain training records, develop various reports, create compliance documents in both English and in French when required, and provide overall administrative support to the HSE Department. This position will help promote a culture of health & safety within the organization.
What you will do as a Bilingual Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) Administrator:
- Corporate HSE responsibilities:
- Execute all Corporate HSE responsibilities below in English and French. Must maintain consistency in communication in both Quebec and Ontario.
- Assist in the development and standardization of HSE Manual.
- Complete all new Corporate HSE orientation.
- Update HSE information on company internal internet.
- Assist in claim management / Support the administration of the company's safe return-to-work program.
- Update HSE information on company internal internet.
- Help develop and distribute HSE communications, such as bulletins and newsletters.
- Coordinate health and safety meetings and events.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of required health and safety documentation to regulatory bodies.
- Provide administrative support to HSE Director/Manager/Supervisors.
- Assist in the development of accident prevention programs.
- Maintain confidentiality of health and safety records and information.
- Promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the HSE Manager.
- Reporting and Tracking:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date health and safety records and documentation within Corporate Training Matrix / Track all NCSO reminders for Field Staff.
- Develop and submit weekly and quarterly ELT reports.
- Develop and submit quarterly incident reports.
- Develop and submit minutes to various HSE meetings.
- Assist in WSIB claim management.
- Track and report on the status of health and safety corrective actions.
- Initiatives & Programs
- Coordinate training sessions for all Broccolini employees (English and French). Work collaboratively with Ontario and Quebec HSE team members.
- Help develop and standardize files on Digital Safety Platform.
- Track and analyze health and safety performance metrics and trends.
- Chare and organize head office JHSC (ON only).
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify and resolve potential safety hazards (ON only)
- Assist in developing and implementing ergonomic initiatives to reduce workplace injuries.
- Support the implementation of HSE incentive programs.
- Assist in the development of HSE signage and labels.
- General Administration
- Manage HSE Q-Drive/OneDrive.
- Create document compliance reports from our subtrades.
- Work with the DRS team to help order and track HSE materials.
- Maintain an inventory of health and safety supplies and equipment.
- Improve all HSE standard PDFs, PowerPoints, Etc.
- Help manage corporate messages through HSE emails.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, oral and written (English and French)
- Health and Safety Degree or Certificate is an asset.
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in similar role.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation in the Construction industry.
- Strong organizational, administrative skills, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to influence others to follow safety rules and regulations.
- Strong emergency response skills.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Must possess a vehicle and valid driver’s license to travel between the office and sites.
- CPR/First Aid Certification and Working with Heights Certification is an asset
