Position Title: Event Services Intern – Spring 2025

Position Summary:
This program offers interns hands-on event management experience alongside the Event Sales and Services team. Interns learn about and assist with the execution of special events ranging from social functions (weddings, bar mitzvahs, etc.) to corporate parties, galas, non-profit fundraisers, and more.
The internship is a three-part program which allows the participant to grow from shadowing event coordinators to becoming the lead of an event at Georgia Aquarium. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. This internship will give students the opportunity to gain valuable applied experience and make connections in professional fields where they are considering pursuing careers.
Responsibilities:
Daily responsibilities include:
- Shadowing Event Services staff in all aspects of an event including pre-planning, preparing the event space, overall event execution and breakdown as well as problem solving as needed.
- Coordinate with catering captains for day of run-through and onsite management of event timeline.
- Assisting with client and vendor interactions as well as overseeing event volunteers.
- Support team with administrative duties and day-to-day office tasks.
Qualifications:
- Must have an interest or major in event management, hospitality, or related field.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Interns must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- This internship requires a varying schedule of 3-4 days per week and may include weekends and holidays. Average hours per week are 20-24.
- This is an experience-based, paid internship.
