Solar Electrician & Technical Specialist

With this, we are looking to bring on-board an experienced and qualified electrician that is confident in offering great customer service to our clients. As a Solar specialist at InstaGroup, key responsibilities will include:
- Support for our domestic solar and battery storage brand – InstaGen.
- Diagnose and address functionality and safety issues our products and app.
- Plan and commission installations, indoor and outdoor electrical control, and wiring.
- Deal with technical queries from our network of installers.
- Visit Installations both internal and external contractors inspect and test electrical systems, including fuses, transformers, and circuit breakers.
- Stay apprised of revisions to relevant solar, electrical, building and safety regulations.
- Ensuring that electrical systems adhere to the national electrical safety standards and regulations.
- To support and train technical teams across the business.
- Visit customer and sites to support their growth in solar.
This job will be for you if:

Previous industry experience and knowledge. You will have a minimum of 5 years solar industry experience.

Solar PV qualifications are essential, as well as knowledge of Solar Apps, being fluent in solar monitoring platforms.

Strong organisation skills to plan & liaise with sub-contractors to visit sites.

You communicate clearly. You can explain anything to anyone, and you are comfortable communicating in person, in writing and on the phone.

You are good with people. The job will require you to coordinate on site and with the customer, as well as office teams for technical queries.

Passion for the industry. Specifically for the renewable energy sector and Solar.

You are tenacious. You have high energy & professional enthusiasm to deliver on your goals. You don’t give up and enjoy a challenge.

Qualifications required:
- Full driving licence required.
- NVQ level 3 technical qualification.
- BPEC – Installation & maintenance of small-scale solar PV systems. 18th Edition
- City & Guilds requirement for electrical installations (18th Edition) (BS7671 Level 3)
- City & Guilds fundamental inspection, testing & initial verification (Level 2)
- Solar PV Installers and Battery Storage Course (Level 3)
- Initial and Periodic Electrical Inspection and Testing (2391)
