JOB SUMMARY: This is a temporary position located in the Division of Interpretation and Education at Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and is supervised by the Education and Outreach Coordinator, GS-0025-11. The incumbent assists in conducting the park's outreach and curriculum-based education programs, as well as interpretive programs geared for youth and families. MAJOR DUTIES: Major Duties: Assist in planning, developing, organizing, leading and evaluating the effectiveness of education programs and activities. Assist in researching, planning, and developing educational materials and media including program outlines, teacher guides, evaluation tools, video-casts and web-based distance learning resources. Develops and presents a variety of outreach activities and media aimed at specific audiences outside the park. Assists with the day-to-day operation of the park's Education and Community Outreach Program which serves a multiple county area within New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Serves as a liaison and maintains professional dialogues with schools, community groups, and agencies involved in education or conservation related fields as they relate to the park's program. Assists with conducting teacher workshops or seminars and other education related conferences to promote the education program and to prepare educators to bring their classes to the park.
