The Senior Director of Compliance, QA/QC plays a pivotal role in ensuring that all design, construction, and commissioning efforts meet stringent regulatory and industry standards. As an integral member of the HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental) team, this role is responsible for overseeing the selection of materials, system designs, and installations, ensuring seamless transitions into operations while prioritizing safety and regulatory compliance.
This role is instrumental in representing the company’s commitment to safety, ensuring safe working conditions as assets are taken into service. Post-commissioning, the Senior Director serves as a subject matter expert, guiding ongoing compliance in operations and maintenance to ensure continued adherence to regulatory requirements.
What’ You Do
- Coordinate with key stakeholders to develop project specific QA/QC plans to best support the needs of the project.
- Participate in the review of plans and specifications to ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct site inspections, develop action plans associated with findings, and ensure satisfactory completion.
- Report to upper management on progress, trends, concerns, and other matters associated with said inspections.
- Implement QA/QC strategies with a primary focus on project safety and compliance, coupled with performance metrics to track program effectiveness.
- Collaborate in the coordination of warranty and workmanship claims.
- Participate in substantial completion evaluations.
- Assist in the successful transition of projects to operations.
- Development of work instructions.
- Serve as Management of Change Coordinator, overseeing MOC process, engaging proper parties for review and approvals, and ensuring records are properly maintained.
Must-Haves
- 7+ years of experience in QA/QC experience with solar and BESS installations, ideally at utility scale.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive quality management systems across all project phases, from design to execution and operations.
- In depth knowledge of solar assembly, including material quality, installation best practices, and compliance with industry standards.
- Strong capability in reviewing, interpreting, and approving project drawings to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Extensive experience leading and conducting quality assessments, audits, and inspections to ensure project integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Project Management Certification preferred.
- Familiar with principles of ISO9001, ISO27001 and ISO45001.
- Familiar with OSHA 29CFR1910, 29CFR1926, NFPA 70E, IEEE1984 and other regulatory standards.
